Notes to review drafts

Write the review from the work you actually discussed.

ManagerForge keeps your meeting history by person and helps turn it into an editable review draft. You check the evidence, fill the gaps and own the final judgment.

What goes into the draft?

Build the record during the year: dated meeting notes, observations, feedback and agreed actions. Review drafting uses the context you have recorded. A fluent draft is not proof that its claims are right, and sparse notes cannot establish a complete performance history.

Check the review period, concrete examples, changes after feedback and evidence you have not yet captured. Keep next-level expectations separate from performance in the current role.

Fictional worked example

One meeting, followed through.

Sam and these notes are invented for this example. This shows the kind of record you can build; it is not a customer result, an app screenshot or a live AI output.

  1. 1. Meeting notes

October 5: Sam says the evening shift receives incomplete handover notes. On two recent shifts, the incoming lead had to repeat checks because the owner and outstanding work were unclear.

  2. 2. Commitment

Sam will try a handover note with completed checks, open work and a named owner on the next three shifts. The manager will arrange ten minutes of overlap with the incoming lead. Review together on October 12.

  3. 3. Follow-up and development

October 12: the new notes were used on all three shifts. One open task still had no owner. Agree to name the receiving person before the outgoing shift ends, then check another week of handovers.

  4. 4. Review draft to check and edit

Sam introduced a clearer shift handover after the October 5 discussion and used it on the next three shifts. The October 12 follow-up identified an unresolved ownership gap. Continue checking whether the named-owner step reduces repeated work. These two notes do not establish a full-year performance rating.

AI drafts can miss context or make mistakes. Check every claim against the notes, add missing evidence, and decide what belongs in the review yourself.

Which plan do I need?

The free plan includes a basic review draft for one person and six months of meeting history. Paid plans add full review generation and longer history. Compare the exact people, audio and history limits before choosing.

If you have a review due now, use the free review preparation tool or work through the evidence and message with Dave. The software does not deliver your review to an employee for you.
